On land, at sea and in the air: transportation does not stop at borders.
That applies just as much to a publishing group that is committed to its
industry.
Customers think cross-border – so do the group and the editorial teams.
Although only locally-based media are successful, the view over the
border is becoming more and more important – for readers as well as for
customers.
The DVV Publishing Group launched its international expansion as long
ago as 1982. It started in Belgium. And since the acquisition of the
longestablished shipping and transport newspaper De Lloyd / Le Lloyd, the
Belgian subsidiary has been the largest foreign subsidiary of the group.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the opening of the borders to the East,
further subsidiaries were added. These are operated in cooperation with
the Austrian publishing group Bohmann. In Hungary, Poland, the Czech
Republic and Bulgaria new publishing houses were set up to produce the
new transport publications.
Alongside the transport and logistics market, other foreign publications
were bought or launched on to the market. These covered subjects such
as shipping, shipbuilding, and railway technology.
The DVV group has thought in terms of networks for decades. It is only
logical that the ETP network was created in 1994. ETP stands for “European
Transport Press”, a network of editorial teams and marketing departments
which cooperate in terms of contents and in the marketplace. This
is because international customers need an international partner.
