A. General part

§ 1 General information

  1. Personal data are individual details about your personal or factual circumstances, i.e. data which identify you or which can be used to establish your identity. This includes, for example, your real name, address, telephone number or date of birth. Personal data also includes personal data, i.e. data without direct reference from which, however, a person can be derived, such as the IP address.

  2. Data relating to the person includes such data that is collected in connection with the retrieval of www.dvvmedia.com by your client (browser) and stored in so-called log files on the servers of DVV Media as well as the technical service providers.

  3. We collect data on each access to the server on which the service is located (so-called server log files) on the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation and security of our services) within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

  4. These are the name of the requested website, file, your IP number, date and time, browser type and the requesting provider.

  5. Log file information is stored for a maximum period of seven days for security reasons (e.g. to clarify abuse or fraud) and then deleted. Data, the further storage of which is necessary for evidence purposes, are excluded from deletion until the respective incident has been finally clarified.

  6. When you visit the pages of DVV Media, personal data is also processed automatically in an anonymised form. This includes usage data such as the beginning and end of your visit, the pages you have visited or the time you spent on the portal. A personal utilization of these data does not take place.

  7. DVV Media collects, processes or uses personal data only in compliance with the relevant data protection regulations. This means that the data of the users will only be processed if there is a legal permission. This means, in particular, if data processing is necessary or legally required for the provision of our contractual services and online services, if the user has given his consent, or if it is based on our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation and security of our services within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR, in particular in measuring the range, creating profiles for advertising and marketing purposes and collecting access data and using the services of third parties).

We would like to point out that the legal basis for the consents is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a and Art. 7 GDPR, the legal basis for the processing for the fulfilment of our services and the implementation of contractual measures is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, the legal basis for the processing for the fulfilment of our legal obligations is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR and the legal basis for the processing to safeguard our legitimate interests is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

§ 2 Security measures


We take organisational and technical security measures in accordance with the state of the art to ensure that the regulations of the data protection laws are complied with and to protect the data processed by us against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or against access by unauthorised persons.

§ 3 Disclosure of data to third parties and third-party providers

  1. A passing on of data to third parties takes place only in the context of the legal defaults. We only pass on user data to third parties if this is necessary for contractual purposes, e.g. on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR or on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR in the economic and effective operation of our business. This applies to internal and external service providers for contract execution and order processing.

  2. If we use subcontractors to provide our services, we will take appropriate legal precautions and take appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure the protection of personal data in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions.

  3. If content, tools or other means are used by other providers (hereinafter referred to as "third-party providers") within the scope of this data protection declaration and their registered office is located in a third country, it is to be assumed that a data transfer to the registered office states of the third-party providers takes place. Third countries are countries in which the GDPR is not a directly applicable law, i.e. in principle countries outside the EU or the European Economic Area. When contacting us (via contact form or e-mail), the user's details will be processed in order to process the contact request and its processing in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

§ 5 Use of cookies

  1. Cookies are small amounts of data which are transmitted to your computer from the Internet together with the data actually requested. This data is stored there and kept ready for later retrieval. DVV Media uses the following types of cookies for www.dvvmedia.com:

    1. Session-Cookies:
      These are cookies that are only stored on your computer for the duration of an Internet session. These cookies are deleted after the end of the session, i.e. after leaving the website or when closing the browser window.

DVV Media uses plugins of the AddThis service, which is operated by AddThis, LLC, 1595 Spring Hill Rd, Suite 300, Vienna, VA 22182, USA ("AddThis"), on the basis of its legitimate interests (i.e. an interest in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our online services within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR) on www.dvvmedia.com AddThis provides tools for creating and designing websites (www.addthis.com) that make it easier for website visitors to share the current page with other Internet users via email or social networks. The plugins can be found in the "Share function" of our articles with the options "Whatsapp", "Facebook", "Twitter", "LinkedIn" and "Xing". AddThis also provides tools for website operators to help them analyze and improve the use of their own website or to enable a direct user approach. AddThis also uses cookies and web beacons (small graphics, "Zählpixel", which allow a log file recording and a log file analysis). If you are using an AddThis plugin, your Internet browser will establish a direct connection to the AddThis servers and, if applicable, the selected social network. The generated data (e.g. time of use or browser language) will be transferred to AddThis and processed there.   2. DVV Media uses the so-called Shariff solution. This solution ensures that no personal data is initially passed on to the social media providers when you visit the DVV Media website. § 7 Analysis services

  1. We use content and service offers from third parties within our services on the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our online services within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) in order to integrate their content and services.

  2. This website uses Matomo, an open source web analytics tool (https://matomo.org/), to collect and store data for marketing and optimization purposes. The legal basis for the use of Matomo is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. This data can be used to create user profiles under a pseudonym. Cookies may be used for this purpose. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in the cache of the Internet browser of the page visitor. The cookies enable the recognition of the Internet browser. The data collected with Matomo will not be used without the express consent of the person concerned to personally identify the visitor to this website and will not be merged with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym.
